Understanding FiveM clothing files

If you open a clothing resource you'll usually see a few file types. YDD files hold the 3D model of the clothing, YTD files hold its textures, and metadata files tell the game which slot the item belongs to and how many variations it has.

These files sit in the resource's stream folder, and the fxmanifest.lua file tells FiveM to load them. Keeping names consistent matters: one typo can stop an item from appearing.

We deliver everything organised and named correctly, so you can drop the resource in and start it without digging through files.

Peds use a similar structure with a few extra files, including a skeleton or physics file in some cases. The idea is the same: models, textures and the data that tells the game how to use them.

If you ever need to edit our files, tools like OpenIV and CodeWalker can open them. We're also happy to make changes for you.
